A classroom board is free within the three-board allowance. KeepCount records numerical tallies, not a named attendance roster or official report.

How to do it
Choose the purpose
For a headcount, make one Count Up counter called Present. For group points, create separate counters labeled Group A and Group B.
Start from the right baseline
Set each starting value and normal increment. Finish layout editing before counting so a tap changes a value rather than opening the editor.
Count and check
Tap once per person or point event. Reconcile a headcount against your usual attendance process; use Undo for a recent mistaken tap.
Close the session
Record the result wherever you keep official attendance or scores. Reset counters when you are ready for the next session.
Example: three groups
- Group A points: Count Up, start 0, step 1.
- Group B points: Count Up, start 0, step 1.
- Group C points: Count Up, start 0, step 1; use labels as well as different colors.
Illustrative setup; use your own labels and starting values.
Keep separate categories clear
A count called Present represents a headcount; a count called Arrivals represents arrival events. Those totals can differ when someone leaves and returns. Pick the meaning you need before using the board.
For a snapshot headcount, Enter Number may be simpler after you count the room. For a stream of arrivals, Count Up lets you record each event as it happens.
Use the tally alongside your real record
The board cannot identify who is absent or produce a student attendance report. Avoid relying on a number alone when your work requires names, time records, or a formal attendance system.
Keep labels generic and private details out of screenshots or support messages. The app stores boards locally; Pro history still is not a multi-user school record.
Common questions
Can several teachers update one shared board?
KeepCount does not advertise live shared boards. Counts on different devices remain separate.
