Use your iPhone or iPad as a tally counter

A KeepCount board puts your tallies on large colored tiles. Give each counter a label, choose what a tap does, and tap the tile whenever the thing you are counting happens.

How to do it

  1. Choose a board

Open KeepCount. Use the Boards button to select an existing board, or choose New Blank Board when you have room in your board allowance. Swipe left or right to move between boards while counting.

  2. Make the counter recognizable

Tap the gear to edit the layout. Tap a counter to open Edit Counter, enter a label such as Completed boxes, and choose Count Up with an increment of 1. Save with the checkmark. Use the plus button if you need another counter.

  3. Leave editing and count

Finish layout editing with the checkmark. Tap the colored tile, rather than the gear or board title, to change the count. Ten taps from zero with a step of 1 give a count of 10.

  4. Correct a mistake

Use the Undo arrow for a recent in-app change. Hold a counter to subtract or enter the exact number if you need a different correction. Check the displayed value before continuing.

A board for each context

Keep attendance separate from a game score by placing them on different boards. A clear board name and short counter labels reduce the chance of adding to the wrong tally. Tap the board title to edit its name.

The free allowance is three boards, not three counters. You can arrange several counters within one board; their size and placement determine how comfortable they are to use.

Start with a simple check

Before a live session, add one count, subtract one, and verify that the original value returns. This confirms the counter mode and step without relying on the tile color.

KeepCount saves boards on the device. A board on your iPhone is not a shared tally with another person’s phone, and the app does not automatically detect the events you are counting.

Common questions

Can I count without internet?

Yes, ordinary counting works offline. Downloading the app, purchases, restoring Pro, and web links need network access.

Can a tap subtract instead?

Yes. Choose Count Down in Edit Counter. Enter Number is a third option for typing a whole value.
