Offline counting is free. Purchases, restoring Pro, downloads, and external links need a network connection.

What works without a connection
Use the installed app to change counts, edit labels and colors, arrange counters, and work with accessible boards. The database is local; normal taps do not depend on reaching a counting server.
Downloading the app or App Clip, opening web pages, purchasing Pro, and restoring access are network tasks. Siri’s own requirements are also controlled by Apple, so offline counting in the app is not an offline Siri guarantee.
One device, several counting surfaces
The app and its widgets and counting actions use shared local storage on the same device. A widget’s displayed value can lag behind the saved value because the system controls redraws.
A board on an iPhone and a board on an iPad are separate local data. KeepCount does not advertise automatic iCloud board sync, collaborative boards, or a live cross-device scoreboard in the public release.
App Clip and browser data
The App Clip offers one editable board and supports bringing it into the full app on the same device. That is a specific installation handoff, not a general sync or backup feature.
The web demo saves in the current browser’s storage. Clearing website data, using a different browser, or changing devices gives a different storage context. Browser demo counts do not import automatically into the app.
Protect a tally you need to keep
Record important final totals in your usual external system before resetting a session or changing devices. Pro history is a local activity view, not a cloud backup.
Avoid deleting the app while troubleshooting counts. The app may use network services for purchases, ads, analytics, and diagnostics even though board content is stored locally; read the privacy policy for those services.
Common questions
Does restoring Pro restore my old counts?
Restore refreshes eligible purchase access. It does not restore a board database removed from the device.
