Tally event arrivals and departures

A simple arrivals counter records entry events. Add a departures counter when you also need an exit tally, and define how re-entry should be counted.

Manual admissions counting is free within your board allowance. KeepCount is not a ticket scanner, shared door system, or capacity alarm.

How to do it

  1. Create an admissions board

Use large labeled tiles for Arrivals and Departures. Give both Count Up, starting value 0, and step 1.

  2. Agree on the event definition

Decide whether a returning guest counts as another entry event. Use the same rule throughout the session.

  3. Record each event

Tap Arrivals on entry and Departures on exit. Correct a recent mistaken tap with Undo or the hold menu’s Subtract action.

  4. Reconcile outside the app

Compare both totals at handoff. If you need current occupancy, subtract departures from arrivals in your own record, accounting for any people already inside.

Example: one entrance

  • Arrivals 75 and Departures 18 represent 57 people still inside only if the room started empty and all movements were recorded.
  • Re-entry increases the entry-event total; it does not count unique guests.
  • Separate devices at two doors require an external reconciliation of their local totals.

Illustrative setup; use your own labels and starting values.

Make handoff unambiguous

Write down the board name, totals, and counting rule when another person takes over. Reset only after both people agree that the earlier session no longer needs to remain on the board.

Use Pro history for reviewing recorded events if useful, but do not expect a guest list or one timestamped entry for each rapid tap.

Use the right system for consequential limits

The app does not automatically combine counters, synchronize multiple doors, or enforce venue capacity. Use the venue’s established process for admission limits and required records.

Counting works offline on the device. Downloads, purchases, and support links need a connection; an offline tally is not a live report to other staff.

Common questions

Can KeepCount count unique visitors?

It counts the events you enter. It does not identify guests or distinguish a return visit automatically.
